Logic keeps asking for serial number after upgrade to 9.1.3
I know this has been asked before, but I'm wondering if there is a solution other than erasing my hard drive etc. I had to do a re-install of my system 10.5.8 and I upgraded to 9.1.3 and now Logic keeps asking for serial number after every shut down (not if I only quit). any ideas?
Thanks!

i'll start with the obvious: have you tried entering your serial number?
before reinstalling your OS: try to remove the reg keyfile (in /Library/Preferences/), then relaunch.
also, the user you have logged in has admin privs?
are any errors dumped in console.app?
reinstalling the OS should not be necessary... any huge move like that should be preceded by attempting to reinstall Logic itself (also a drastic measure).
Thanks for your response. I had already re-installed my OS because computer wouldn't boot up. I had downloaded Onyx and run it which I think was the start of my problems including the missing serial number - so it was looking for serial number even before my upgrade to 9.1.3. I could not find anything called a reg keyfile in either my user or startup disk /Library/Preferences/. When I put in my serial number, I can boot and quit as many times as I want until I shut down.
Here are the 3 console messages that appear when I try to boot up and they are the same that come up after shutting down or on a launch which does NOT ask for serial number:
1/4/11 11:31:35 AM Console[149] Can't open input server /Library/InputManagers/LCC Scroll Enhancer Loader
1/4/11 11:31:52 AM Logic Pro[150] Can't open input server /Library/InputManagers/LCC Scroll Enhancer Loader
1/4/11 11:31:52 AM [0x0-0x1b01b].com.apple.logic.pro[150] ECMemReserve: allocating in MainStage mode
I have the same problem, and as I'm on vacation I don't have my serial here. How is this supposed to be "pro" software if you can't rely on it? I won't even start to imagine what can happen if I experience this during a tour...
We are having this exact same problem and have been keeping a text document with our serial on the desktop.
This works but really slows us down as we typically reboot a few times a day since the setup we use is quite large and intensive and goes beyond just logic.
Totally bombs our autoload and scripting since logic can't boot without us manually putting in the serial.
If anyone has any solution for this problem please let us all know.
Try moving the *Logic Studio System ID* and the ProAppsSystemID files to the desktop before starting Logic. They can be found in *Library/Application Support/ProApps* folder. Reboot, start Logic, enter serial, quit Logic, reboot, see if it works now. If it works, trash the two files from the desktop.
