The option available to you though is to _buy the newer version._ +It doesn't cost much.+
Obviously, some of the Apps you have now require iOS3 _or possibly higher,_ and that's something you need to be aware of.
A 1G iPod Touch can only be upgraded to iOS3.1.3 and no higher. (It cannot support iOS4, it's simply not able to do it.) So if any App that you have needs the Operating System to be higher than iOS3.1.3, your iPod will not be able to use that App. Look in the iTunes Store, at the page for each of your Apps that have updates available. The requirements will be listed on the left hand side. +Where is says iPhone iOS4, it also means iPod Touch.+

Am I missing something?

Currently Being ModeratedJan 4, 2011 10:50 AM (in response to alan3434)I figured out the problem I was having. Apparently, I was unable to download the update through Google Chrome. When I went through IE, it worked right away.
