Touch 1st generation upgrade for applications

There are some applications that won't let me update or add because it says "This version of ___ for iPhone is no longer supported. Please upgrade to version 3.0 or later." But when I go to upgrade it says that it's been upgraded and no new one is available. The version that it's on is 2.2.1 and won't let me get another one. Does anyone have any solution? Thanks!!

In case it's not clear to you why *Jolly Giant* has suggested the link to purchase iOS3.1 - your iTunes has the most recent update of the operating system you have. The option available to you though is to _buy the newer version._ +It doesn't cost much.+

Obviously, some of the Apps you have now require iOS3 _or possibly higher,_ and that's something you need to be aware of.

A 1G iPod Touch can only be upgraded to iOS3.1.3 and no higher. (It cannot support iOS4, it's simply not able to do it.) So if any App that you have needs the Operating System to be higher than iOS3.1.3, your iPod will not be able to use that App. Look in the iTunes Store, at the page for each of your Apps that have updates available. The requirements will be listed on the left hand side. +Where is says iPhone iOS4, it also means iPod Touch.+
