Error 404 The requested URL was not found on this server

When trying to open a site I get " Error 404" "The requested URL was not found on this server"

I can open this site with no problems on my windows machine but cannot open it on my Macbook Pro or Macbook Air. It worked just one time on each machine and then the above error has come up ever since.

I haven'e got much hair left to pull out - help please!

Hi Carolyn

Thanks for the very quick reply. I have tried as you instructed but unfortunately the same error is still coming up.

It is a video web server I am trying to access. The site is working fine and I can access it with no problems with my Windows machine.

When I type in the correct user name and password I get the error stated. Interestingly if I type in nothing, or completely (intentionally) wrong data I get the same result on both Windows and Mac.

It is almost like although I am typing data in the username and password fields, Safari is not sending it???

Hi,

Quit Safari (Command + Q)

Open Keychain Access (Applications/Utilities) Select Passwords on the left.

Delete the keychain for that site.

Relaunch Safari. Then from the menu bar click Safari / Preferences then select the Security tab.

Make sure: *user names and passwords* is selected.

Navigate to that site, login as usual with your user name and password, click Yes when prompted. That will create a new keychain for you.
