Png. Images on ipad

I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this question. I would like to be able to import png. Images with alpha onto my ipad but have them in my photo library available to be used in my apps, is there any way to do this?
I have searched the Internet and forums here and I see that some people that are usings Mac have somewhat of a work around when using pages but I am on a PC and would like to have them accessible as are all my jpgs.

On a Mac you just import PNG just like you would a jpeg. Transparent PNGs will work in Pages and Keynote. This Apples knowledge base article for Keynote on the iPad tells you to use the PNG formate.

I don't think PNGs with a transparent background will work in other apps. You can also import PNGs with GoodReader.
