Cannot print to Epson Artisan 725

Okay, the first time I set this thing up I was able to print wirelessly no problem. After restart, though, it refused to print at all--not via USB, Ethernet or wireless. It does, however, scan and save to my computer just fine. Epson of course feels this is a Mac software issue. âš  After reviewing this forum, I tried a few things that seemed relevant, including:

--downloading and installing the newest driver
--adding the printer as an IP printer
--resetting the printing system
--trashing the Epson library folder
--restarting in safe mode and repairing permissions
--downloading and running Printer Setup Repair
--downloading the Gutenprint drivers

After this last, I can at least get a file to spool, but the queue says "network host is busy; will retry in 30 seconds..." When I use the old Gimp driver, it causes the printer to spit out a never-ending supply of blank pages.

It does show up when I ping it and in Bonjour.

One post mentioned 802.11g and 802.11n printing in regards to an Artisan 810, but I don't know what that means. Anyone have some other ideas? Am I just doomed?

Thanks for your reply! Yes, I have removed the printer and added it again, as both a Bonjour and IP printer, and neither works. The printer does disappear from Bonjour when I turn it off. Also, I forgot to mention in the original post that I checked to make sure it wasn't a shared printer.

Do you think I should wipe and reinstall the Mac OS printing system?

Just checking, was this the driver you downloaded?

Printer Driver v8.31
Intel-based Macs with OS X (v10.4.11 - v10.6.x), PowerPC Macs with OS X (v10.4.11 - v10.5.8)

Look for things like these but with Epson or Seiko in the names...

Might try trashing these...

System/Library/LaunchDaemons/printer.plist

Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.print.PrinterProxy.plist

Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.print.PrinterProxy.magicolor_22 00.plist

Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.print.PrinterProxy.HP LaserJet1200.plist

Well, holy ****! Removing all those library files and reinstalling didn't help, but the Gutenprint 710 driver DID. Thank you so much! I just printed something from Preview, so I don't know what kind of results I might get from Photoshop, but I am so desperately grateful that it's spitting out anything!

I am still a bit jacked because this is clearly an Epson problem and they have been no help whatsoever. YOU, however, are my hero. Not sure whether to mark this solved--I think I need to reboot and try a few more apps first.
