Stopping iTunes from downloading TV show & Movies

I still don't have an Apple TV tab. Some of the downloads came and some didn't. I want the ones that didn't. Any suggestions?
I was experiencing the same thing...no matter how many times I deleted a show from my iTunes library, it kept coming back. Very frustrating!
Today I finally figured it out: go to your Store in iTunes and click on "Purchased". Delete the TV shows there.
Then go back to "TV Shows" in the iTunes Library, right click on the shows and select "Delete". That should do it.
TV Shows and Movies are NOT available options under my "Purchased" content. Only gives me access to Music, App, Books. I'm on the Canadian iTunes store, and it might make a difference.
Very annoyed...
This is not answered. I've tried the following:
Nothing works. Every time I restart iTunes 10.5.3, it starts again. I HATE THIS SHOW and am so tired of it re-downloading. It's 1.1 GB. I've watched it once, I downloaded it once fully. And deleted it. Yet it keeps coming back like a zombie.
Any answers?
Annoying here too. Stop iTunes restarting d/ls by Edit -> Prefs -> Store and UNCHECK the box for Always check for available downloads
I DO NOT want both HD and SD d/ls.
I watch TV via Apple TV and don't want to download the TV content. I only want to download music.
But the TV shows keep appearing even after I unclick "check for downloads". Is there a way to remove content that you don't want to download to computer and just leave it in "PURCHASED" so that I can download only what I want. You can do that with iPad, iPod Touch and iPhone, but it seems you can't do that on iTunes when using a computer. It just download everything at least once.
Apple is worth 600 billion dollars so they are right and you are wrong and iTunes is awesome. If you don't stop complaining they will buy your country and turn it in labour camp. So shut up. 😁
same problem here. I watch TV show purchases via Apple TV and don't want to download the TV to my Mac(s) -- it only eats up bandwidth. I do want to download music to the Macs.
help?
Same here. Arg!!! We are all having the same problem, and no solution?
ok here's what i did -- went into Preferences > General and unchecked the "TV Shows" from my itunes library. then i deleted the show files. then i monitored it for a couple days and they didnt seem to come back...
try that and let us know!
Finally a solution thanks.
As mdelvecchio said aove if you go to Preferences > General and uncheck the "TV Shows" from the itunes library. then go to the Downloads screen you can delete the show files forever.
Hi
I had the same problem.
I clicked on TV Shows in the left column and I right-click on the show and select "mark as watched". I have started Itunes since and it doesn't seem to download.
Unfortunately this doesn't work for me. I have iTunes 11.0.1 on a Mac (maybe that's different) and if I hide TV and then delte the shows from Downloads, they just show up again the next time I launch iTunes.
It sure seems like I must be missing something... I have an Apple TV and want to watch shows and movies there and not on my Mac. Seems simple enough...
