I've noticed several times now when searching web sites there is content that requires "adobe flash" or other adobe software. When I try to install it, I get a message saying something to the effect that Apple does not support Adobe software on IPad.
So, is there an App or something I can use on the Ipad to see video content or even photos from web sites that require "Flash" or other Adobe software?
I think it's pretty lousy that one of the big selling points of the Ipad is that it offers you a "full internet viewing experience" however I'm finding that it "DOES NOT".
My only concern about the whole thing is I did not even know what flash was, or that it was not on the ipad, no one at apple mentioned anything about that to me, or even hinted at the fact that I would not get the whole web.
I never thought to even ask though either, I mean my evo phone only cost $199 and it get's the web just fine... and its a phone, been using it for like 4 months.
According to Adobe they have a flash player for ipad, it's standing at the ready waiting for the call like a Marine.

The whole Adobe Flash thing kinda bums me out too! There is a lot of content I can't view on my Iphone as well because Apple "I" products don't support "Adobe" products.
It would be nice if things just worked seamlessly but I guess that's too much to ask of Mr. Jobs and Mr. Gates!

In a nutshell, Flash like many of Adobe's products has quality issues in terms of resource use and security (I've worked with Adobe products for years). It is also obsolete: there's nothing significant that Flash does that can't be done in HTML5. In addition Flash is proprietary, HTML5 isn't. Yes you will still find Flash based sites for a while, but eventually they will go away. HTML5 will become the standard.
As for SkyFire: feedback on this is mixed at best.
It was a smart a.s.s comment in regard to the fact the Mr. Jobs and Mr. Gates pretty much control the computer industry: i.e. Microsoft and Apple. The point I was trying to make without having to write an entire novel is that from my experience it seams that often times Apple products don't work seamlessly with other products that do work with PC's. It's as if Mr. Jobs wants his Apple users to only be able to use Apple products. Which, I can understand to a degree but it would be nice if things just worked.
For example, other than my Ipad example where it won't work with "Adobe Flash", often times I get emails from people that may have a video file that won't open on my Mac. I have tried to use Quicktime player and I have tried to update everything I can but for some reason, the video files still will not play. Now, me not being a computer expert, I just chalk it up to the fact that something in my Mac does not work with whatever file type they are sending, no big deal, I just don't see the video. I'm sure their are other "Players" I can download to watch the video with, but it would be nice if stuff was just built in so that when I hit play on the video, it would just work.
Again, I am not a computer export, and I'm sure there are reasons other than my little conclusions, but sometimes I think the powers that be, like Mr. Jobs and Mr. Gates don't want their systems to work seamlessly with other systems so people have to buy more products from them. I would think, in this day an age of technology, things could be simplified so that people like me don't have to have 2,3, or maybe 4 different media players on their computer, just to watch some video that someone emailed to me.
And before you go calling me a "whiner", I'm not ******** about this, I accept it for whatever it is. I just wish things were a little easier sometimes when it comes to computers.
So yes, I realize Mr. Gates does not work for Apple or Adobe. But if Mr. Gates and Mr. Jobs got together every now and then I be they could make things a lot easier for everyone when it comes to computers!

Hulu has an Ipad app, however from the little I browsed the App, most of the content has to be paid for. Hulu's web site however has a lot of free content. So if I go to the Hulu web site on my Ipad, I would think I would be able to view the free content. Wrong! I can't because the Ipad does not support Flash. Any thoughts?
I don't for a minute believe Meg intended any offense. I too was confused by your comment including Mr. Gates in the discussion as Microsoft created their own competitor to Flash called Silverlight, which they are now abandoning.
As I pointed out Mr. Gates has retired from Microsoft and has nothing to do with current operations of the company.
I would get more involved with this discussion with you but by your own admission you do not have enough information. You should read a few books and articles before defining your worldview of technology and then come back here.

The problem is that is isn't about just Bill Gates and Steve Jobs. There's thousandsd of other palyers on the market that make all of the software and control the standards and architecture of those applications. It's not up to Microsoft and Apple to code their respective Operating Systems and platform apps to all of those - its up to the companies who make the applications to conform to the OSes they wish to sell their product for. Its no secrete that in some arenas there is more support for Windows than Apple. With the increasing popularity of iPhones and iPads, that's changing.
In the case Flash (only as an example), Adobe has partially failed to do that - at least in Apple's estimation. Is some of that a matter of PR and competition - sure. But that's nothing new.
Once upon a time, THE standard for web browsers was Internet Explorer (Microsoft). The vast majority of high profile and commercial websites were coded to it. No longer feasible: the leader in browsers in Europe as of the end of the year is Firefox. I will predict that you will see the same thing with Flash and HTML5 - and probably sooner than you think.

Complain to Hulu perhaps? And no, I'm not being sarcastic. That is not Apple's decision, its theirs.
