App Store Freezing When Downloading

Tried to remove the plist file.. No luck... have repaired permissions and checked my harddrive. Made a safe start witch shift and also PRAM... Still no luck and now I don't know what more I can test.... 🙂

Same here! Beach ball every time i try and download twitter. I force quit and restarted everything and that didn't help. Launch day bugs i guess.

Guys I've just solve it: I've ejected my external hard drive.

It started working for me after I posted here... probably just some server issue and not a local problem.

Well ive been trying for two hours and still cant even download one app without a hang. ive let it hang for up to 20 minutes on a small app even. Nothing.

I have no external hard drives, but I have a dual boot with Windows on one of them. The hard disk is, anyway, internal.

Tried to unmount my external harddrive as mentioned above.. this didn't work...

Weird. After numerous tries, it finally worked. Not sure if it's the proper way, but here's how I did it: I signed out of my Apple ID and quit the App Store. Opened it again, went to the Twitter app and tried to download it. I got a prompt to sign in and did so. I got an unknown error and clicked retry. The terms and conditions popped up, I agreed to them, and the download started.

I was having these issues as well and force quit it a few times. I left it running trying to download twitter and after about 5 minutes of beachball, the terms and conditions popped up. It's been working fine since.

I had already accepted the new terms via iTunes when I had the problems I resolved unmounting the external hard drive.

Hangs on MacbookPro Runs just fine on Mac Mini Server.

I have rebooted the MacbookPro but no luck.

I was having this same issue, and Federico D'Ambrosio's comment gave me an idea: although I didn't have any external drives mounted, I did have my Boot Camp partition mounted.

Unmounting the Boot Camp partition unfroze the App Store.

I'm honestly curious how this escaped beta testing...

Confirmed all. Unmounting Boot Camp partition does the trick.

Unmounting the Boot Camp partition worked for me too.
