Just installed OS X 10.6.6 with the new App Store. For those of us waiting for a new iWeb App - there is not one at this time - not even as part of iLife 11

    YEAH??!! WHAT THE HEY??!!!

Is iWeb TRULY dead now? I am hoping that Apple is just biding their sweet time, to see how the app
store will do. If it is successful, then I am hoping that they will create an app for it.

Either it's dead altogether, or they are working extremely hard on an amazing, new, refreshed iWeb.

And the iLife blurb in the Mac App Store says:
"For the first time ever, the three apps that make up the iLife suite are available to download individually."

...The three being iPhoto, iMovie & GarageBand — click on the thumbnail:

I don't think iWeb is dead. Apple's personality is to announce when something is dead, i.e. X Serve, older ipods, BluRay, etc. Apple usually announces when something is truly dead. So the quietness is probably the fact that they are working on something or even debating on whether to kill it.

I am still using iWeb 08. Just last week I was going to buy iLife so that I can get a newer version of iWeb. I have one web site that I upload to MobileMe and one that I would like to upload via FTP. I am having trouble with FTP clients and read that newer versions of iWeb have FTP built-in.

I waited all week with anticipation of the App Store grand opening- only to be let down!

If Apple kills iWeb, it will seriously ruin my day.

iWeb may not be "dead" per se but may well not be getting any further development. Apple hasn't officially labeled either DVD Studio Pro nor iDVD as "dead", but neither have received any updates (at least none significant) in quite some time. We'll have to wait and see, but the lack of either iWeb or iDVD in the App Store certainly isn't a positive sign for those interested in those applications.

This is a pain in the posterior.
All the iLife applications come with a new mac. I bought iWork 08. My mac, a late 2009 iMac came with the ilife 08 set.

I have upgraded Mac OS X. I refrained from upgrading to iWork 09 or iLife 09. I dont have any use for Garageband, iMovie, or Keynote at present and when I do have a need for them I can now get the modules I want. I will be upgrading Pages, Numbers, iPhoto

IWeb and iDVD are clearly MISSING IN ACTION and the 09 versions SHOULD be put in the App store

disappointed yet AGAIN apple!!!! I waited for ilife 11 to come out...no update....then I waited for the App Store to open... NO UPDATE! What gives Jobs?! I would pay a pretty penny for an update too!

Maybe I will email him and ask if the software is dead or going to be revised....

I've been waiting for a huge update for iWeb for the last year or so.
Was totally disappointed when Apple released iLife 11' with ZERO updates to iWeb. Now, iWeb is no where to be found in the App Store.
Either they're developing a stronger web dev product (in the vein of iWeb, but with tons more features), or they're letting it die.
It's been way too long without any updates, which leads me to believe they're abandoning it.
I personally love using iWeb, and it's one of the reason why I actually bought a Macbook Pro in the first place.

me too I use it a LOT.

If they are letting it die i wish they would announce it so I can quit hanging on to slim hope.
does Jobs or someone at apple answer emails about questions like this?
