Apps will not download

Question

Apps will not download

I have 3 downloading apps that are in the "waiting" mode in my dock. They have not downloaded any data at all - they've been in this state for over two hours now.

I have two other computers on the same network that have downloaded the same apps within seconds.

I've tossed cookies, restarted the app store, restarted the computer….what else can I do? Any app I try to download on this one computer just seem to "wait" forever with no activity.

I'm unfortunately having the same issue. I can browse the app store fine, but when downloading my network monitor (Little Snitch) shows zero network activity by the App Store. It's not even trying to download.

I'm also having the exact same problem. Restarts and re-logins aren't helping at all.

Just to clarify, my issue is on a MacbookPro, not a Powerbook (old habits die hard). My machine isn't brand new but it's not THAT old!

Just tried creating a completely new user on my system and tested the App Store from there. Same problem. Doesn't appear to be anything specific to the user account.

Hey Cliff, I tried that, too. No dice. I also reinstalled the 10.6.6 update. Still no change.

At least it's working on my other machines - but this one is my main computer. Sigh

I wonder if the store's country has anything to do with it? Only asking because I'm using the Canada store, not the US one.

Probably not related to country. Tim R & I are both using the U.S. store.

I tried deleting ~Library/Caches/com.apple.appstore and still did not work...

I re-verified my account info and payment information and that seemed to fix the problem. check your expiration dates on all payment cards, etc.

Same problem here.

I have tried a few re-starts, signing in and out.

Found a few fixs online but none have worked. Seems to be related to accept the new T&Cs today. I did mine via my iPhone earlier today (while updating some apps) before I installed the Mac App Store

Here's a list of everything I did before it started working:

1. Deleted the ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.appstore
2. Emptied Trash
3. Signed out of account in the App Store
4. Quit the App Store
5. Shutdown and restarted machine
6. Opened iTunes and downloaded an iPhone app (any app will do)
7. On iPhone downloaded an app
8. In Safari went to Apple ID account login
9. Updated all info name, location, payment info, payment verification
10. Reopened App Store
11. Went to App page and clicked download
12. Prompted to sign in
13. Signed in
14. The App started downloading

I hope this helps I don't know what step made the difference but it worked.
