App Store: "We could not complete your purchase"

"... can't be installed on your computer."

I get this error when trying to download an app from the store. What gives?

Same problem here. I did the log out, reboot and all that. Finally I was able to download SketchBook Express, and it asked me to agree to the new Terms & Conditions (which I saw from other sites seems to be the problem). But then the same things happen when I try to download Alfred, another free app. I'm wondering if this just might be a system overload issue and maybe things will clear up later tonight or tomorrow.

Hi there

Yeah I'm having the same problem however I Googled the apps I wanted to download from the App Store and downloaded the apps from the developers sites no problem. I also went onto the iTunes Store and downloaded some freebie TV clips with no problems so it's not an account problem. So this is definitely a problem with the App Store.

"Solitaire Greatest Hits" and "Alfred" "Can't be installed on this computer" although I've been successful with several others.
When the iTunes app store was newer I kept coming across apps that couldn't be installed on my iPod Touch for no apparent reason. Turned out the developers had to check boxes for devices their apps could be installed on. Some hadn't tested theirs on the Touch, some didn't care, and some just missed the box for the Touch.
