App Store app cannot open

Installed 10.6.6 this morning - App Store app appeared in dock - when trying to open it, received "App Store cannot be opened because of a problem" with exception codes 0x0 and 0x2. this is a very vanilla imac with not much installed on it
a) anyone else having this problem?
b) anyone having any ideas about getting app store app to work?

I am having the same problem, I updated to 10.6.6 and the mac app store is in the doc. When i click it I get an error message saying I need to ask the developer if my OS version is compatible.

I get this message:

Dyld Error Message:
Symbol not found: CSSMOID_APPLE_TP_MACAPPSTORERECEIPT

anyone have a clue?

I reinstalled my snow leopard 10.6 and then ran the Mac os combo straight to 10.6.6 and now the app store works fine on my computer. I think a file became corrupted during the software update.

I get message "Cannot Connect to The App Store". Nothing else!

Trashed App Store app + files then re-installed 10.6.6 from combo upgrade.
No change apart from nothing in doc. Used main application and got same message: "Cannot Connect to The App Store".

After 48 hours of deep cerebral activity switched off Little Snitch and got instant access.
However, after creating a rule allowing App Store access it hung up again when attempting to sign in/enroll etc.
Had to switch Little Snitch off again to browse further. Thus, different steps of use of App Store need separate rules in Little Snitch - or so it would seem. As yet have n't worked this out.

Same here. Trashed AppStore app and re-downloaded OS10.6.6 combo. Still having the message "Cannot Connect to the App Store". Well, saving $$$ in the meantime!

One way I found to access the App Store was to create an new user account ( System Preferences-Accounts-+) with administrator privileges. I logged in using the new user account on my mac and could access Apple Store and download an app.

I'm having the same problem. I need to update Pages and can't now that the app store won't open. 😟

Install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo

Then restart your Mac.

Then try launcing the App Store from your Apple menu.

i had this problem and i figured out that i had two app stores on my mac after i downloaded Lion Click this link then Click show in app store it should work once its open right click the app store that works and click keep in dock then remove the other one

you dont have to download mac os lion just click show in app store and it will work
