Where and how do I use a "Clipboard" on my iPhone 4?

I bought an app that adds "Animotion" to MMS or E-mail. Instructions say to select an image and it will be transferred to my Clipboard. For MMS you "open text and paste the image...! It is not the "yellow" notes and is not on my keyboard.
