iTunes Keyboard shortcuts not working

I have installed 10.1.1 iTunes. My keyboard shortcuts are not working. For example when I press F10 to mute, spaces becomes enabled though that is not checked to work in Preferences. None of my volume controls will work correctly. Any ideas as to what to check?
