the item you've requested is not currently available in the us store
Keep getting this message and I can't get technical phone support because I'm a windows user. Tried customer support directions to no avail. Anyone else have any ideas?
according with a post that I read earlier today it may be exactly the message that you are getting, that the app or whatever item you are trying to purchase has a restriction and can only be sold in Canada, EU , or whatever country they made it available for..
You are ahead of the game, then. I don't even see a "new & noteworthy" section.
Apple just started an App Store for Macs. Maybe that's why the itunes store is wonky.
I kept seeing that "not available in US" message for free songs of the week a few months ago, then it mysteriously went away.
Definitely something on their end!
If it is something on their end I wish they could at least update the status of the situation or that I could be in contact with tech support, just really frustrating. If anyone has any other ideas about how to make this better let me know.
I've had the same problem for quite some time now... and it persists across iTunes software updates. I suspect (tho' am not 100% sure) I've even done a complete purge and re-install and still have the same problem.
This occurs every time I access "iTunes Store" within a given iTunes application initiation. I suspect that for some reason, instead of using the default Home page load, it's defaulting to searching for some invalid string.
I also suspect that no answer from Apple or forum members will be forthcoming. I'm going to try to just live with a keyboard sequence to get past the glitch:
______ (Tab) » (Enter) » {(Alt)+(S)} » (H)

Hope this is of some use. —Thri
This happened to me after upgrading iTunes. Go under Edit > Preferences > Parental Controls. UN-check anything that is checked under the "Disable" section. The Save/OK.
