Mac AppStore does not work at all

Whenever I try to buy an app (I tested if we free apps only) nothing happens except a lot of questions, either for the admin password or for the apple id password. This is plain unusable.

MacBook Air 13" (late 2010), Mac OS X (10.6.5)

Mine is f'd too. I only get the wheel of doom, and then a force close. So sad.

Nothing. The wheel turns a while and that's it. No download progress indication and the app does not appear in the bought apps section. I tried it several times with different apps in a row.

The exact sequence:

start appstore
select app to buy, click on bye
appstore asks for admin password
appstore asks for apple id password
wheel turns shortly
appstore asks for apple id password a second time

and that's it, nothing download.

Seems to be working ok at my end, just wondering if the servers may be getting overloaded with everyone around the world trying it out.

Once I have given my passwords and CC info, the App icon appears on the dock showing it downloading and then installing.

What happens if you go to itunes and check your purchase history, do it show the Apps purchased?

Seems to be happening to many others too; Looks like one of the possible fix is to unmount all the external drives including bootcamp.

Unmount them from diskutility and try again..this solution has worked for most of them; I am yet to try...

I have other issues with the Mac AppStore:

• I open the AppStore on my MacBook Air

• I go to the "purchased" section

• And there's the beach ball! It becomes totally unusable...

Anyone having the same issues?

i have the same issue. i cannot connect to the apple store. i dont know if it has to do something with my macbook air crashed. i called apple support and paid them to reboot and they installed anti virus and now i cannot connect to the app store. i can connect using my phone and my ipad.
