My iPhone won't shut down. How do I fix it?

Hello, apple forum members.

I have a problem with my iPhone 3g, I just wanted to shut down but the phone hangs on the spinning thing. When I try to connect with my macbook I get this error: 0xE8000065. So I can't do anything with it now!

iPhone 3G, iOS 4, It won't shut down.

Have you tried a reset?

No, i can't do it because i already tried to shut down my iPhone but the spinning wheel or something keeps turning and turning the iphone just won't shut down. when i hold the power button nothing happens!

What does this have to do with reset?

Hold the power and the home button down at the same time until the Apple symbol appears. This is a reset as described in the basics section of the manual.
