iPad without internet connection

Hi, as many others I too am having problems connecting to the internet with my iPad.
I used the iPad in my father's house and was able to connect no problems, as soon as I went back home I cant connect with my router. My iPhone 4 and DELL laptop have no problems connecting to the wifi.
The router is a Motorola WR850G using WPA-PSK security, the Wireless MAC Access Control List option in the router is disabled. If I enable it and try adding the iPad's MAC address manually to the router's MAC address list but I get a message saying "Illegal MAC Address"
The iPad shows the wi-fi logo at the top left corner and when going to settings-Wi-Fi I see my network selected and with the check mark next to it, but if I go further I see the IP Address starts with 169 and there is nothing next to router or DNS (my iphone has numbers there)

I tried a lot of troubleshooting things like renew lease, forget network, turn off/on, adjust brightness, etc

I appreciate any help I can get!

Ipad, Windows XP
