Add my own background

Does anyone know if it is possible for me to add my own background from Photoshop for use in iMovie?

Thanks for help

You could import the background image into iMovie, just like any other image import. If you can't drag it in from the Desktop (or from elsewhere), import first to iPhoto then pick it up from there in iMovie's Photo Browser. It's best to save it as a jpeg or png file when exporting from Photoshop.

Once you have the image in an iMovie project, you can add titles and use it like other image files. For adding a title, drag it onto the actual thumbnail, not into the gap between clips. iMovie asks you to choose a background from the Maps and Backgrounds Browser only when you insert a title between clips, not when placing directly on a video or still clip.

Nah...that's fine! We've all got a good sense of humour Down Under. The Australian cricket team probably deserves a good slapping. But England were by far the better team this time around and didn't let our guys get into the game (other than the Perth Test). So, a very well deserved victory for England!

Take care and enjoy your editing with iMovie '11.

when you say "fix resolution" are you referring to the resolution is fixed automatically due to the nature of video?

yes.
in video, the resolution is defined by the standard in use. a 720p video is 1280x720 on ANY screen, a 50" plasma or a tiny 10" ... => so, no 'dots per inch', just pixel. there are 4 resolutions, 1080, 720, PAL and NTSC.
