Which kind of template ?

(1) one delivered by Apple with iWork

(2) a custom one no longer useful.

In case 1, it would be a very bad idea.

In case 2, you delete it exactly as you delete an other file.

Navigate to the folder :

<startupDisk>:Users:<yourUserAccount>:Library:Application Support:iWork:Numbers:Templates:My Templates:
and move the unwanted files to the trash.

Deleting custom templates is described in my message.

Templates delivered by Apple are stored in the application's package and I repeat that deleting some of them is a bad idea.

I don't know which would be the behavior of an updater if some templates are removed and, as long as the next major release isn't delivered, we may assume that a new upgrade may be offered.

Are you asking how to delete a template page from something like PAGES?? For instance, if I open PAGES and select a newsletter, then create a ten page newsletter, but I don't want page 8, I can delete it by looking at the left side bar that shows all the pages of the newsletter. I click once on page 8 to highlight it, go up to EDIT and then scroll down to DELETE PAGE.

Hi.

I will make a guess that you are puzzled because you could not find the file string specified.

Specifically, you couldn't find the "Library" folder under your

"<startupDisk>:Users:" string?

I had exactly the same problem. Then I sussed it out.

Under 10.7, at least, this folder is flagged as "Hidden" (...can't have those users fiddling, can we?).

If you can't see it, you can't follow it down to the offending files.

I googled "show hidden files Mac OS X 10.7" and got this and it worked!

Show hidden files Mac OS X 10.7 Lion - MikeSel.info

It involves using a Terminal session, but are we men or mice? (Squeak up!!)

There is a similar fix for 10.6. There are also various 3rd party utilities which will do this for you.

Some of which are mentioned here:- (N.B. He talks about the Option button, on the UK keyboard this is the Alt button)

I was using MainMenu in 10.6 and the Old Techie in me made me switch on "Display hidden files" automatically, so I didn't come across this problem then. It was only when I upgraded to 10.7 that I wondered where the Library folder had gone.

Hope this helps!

Cheers.
