Can`t configure my airport express. Can`t connect. to it. Error-code -4

This is fy first post. Sorry if this has been answered before. I tried to search for this error, but I couldn`t find anything.

I also appologise for my English 🙂

I have a problem with my two airport express.

First of all, I have reset them both. When I go in to the airport configuration tool, I see two units that appears to be "new".
If i then tries to push the manual config button, it first says I have to change wireless network to the one on the airport express. I accept that, and it says "searching for wireless Apple units". After a little while it says that "no wireless Apple units can be found." Error-code -4.

I can`t seem to configure the two units, no matter what I do...

Can someone please help me with this?

I suggest that you temporarily disable IPv6 on your Win7 PC's network wireless adapter, and then, try accessing the AirPort with the AirPort Utility to see if this will resolve the issue. If this doesn't resolve it, you can always re-enable IPv6.

(ref: Start > Network > Network and Sharing Center > Change adapter setting > Right-click the appropriate connection, and then, select Properties > On the Network tab, uncheck the "Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6)" option.)

I am having the same issue but it is with an extreme not an express. Anyway i tried to upgrade to a new dual band router as this one is about 3 years old. Bad decision. When i tried to hook up my airport it was very slow all of a sudden so i deleted everything to start over. I have it working now (unsecured), downloaded the airport utility program. If finds it but gives me the error above.

I did read elsewhere that it could be related to the first generation mac book pros with the intel chip. I origially setup the device on that computer and now i am trying to access it through my PC.

Any suggestions?

Have you tried disabling IPv6 per my suggestion to the OP of this post? Have you tried connecting your PC directly to the AEBSn by Ethernet, and then, accessing it with the AirPort Utility? Have you disabled the Win7 (or third-party) firewall?

Thanks for the answer 🙂

I tried to disable IPv6, but it didn`t help.
I then tried it on another computer and there it worked, so I just used that one 🙂

But then I ran into another problem. It wouldn`t save the IP-adress I gave it, but I found the solution to that problem in a different post 🙂

I have the same problem. I can't access my Airport express since i installed the update last week.
I tried to reset it many times but it didn' help...
I'll try the IPv6 thing this evening...

I already had many problems setting it up the first time, i feel i'll regret buying this stuff...
