can not connect to the app store

Hi all,
I hope one will be able to give me more help than the apple support team.

I've installed the update on my two computers.
On the IMac it is working fine in several account.

On my MacBook Pro, the app is stuck on"Can not connect to the app store".
I've tried the suggestions of the help menu, and from some discussions. I even reinstalled the ocmbo update.

Nothing happens.

If somebody has some clue?

Thanks in advance.

HI and welcome...

Download and install the v10.6.6 combo update available here.

http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1349

Then repair permissions.

Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac. If you see a long list of "messages" in the permissions window, it's ok. As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done.

If you see any warnings re: SUID messages, they can be safely ignored, information here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1448?viewlocale=en_US

So I've done it, but nothing changed.
I still cannot connect to the app store.

I will just get rid of the thing.
I've read somewhere in mac help that i probably must have to reinstall the OS. It's definitely too much work for an incoherent behavior of the update process.

The two funny things are that i can connect to it with the imac and the answers from the apple support (unrelated links and the link to the assistance phone numbers).

I am trying to solve a .mac and .me inconsistence between my computer and itunes. Perhaps it is the reason of my problems with the app store.

thanks for your help.

cheers.

I had the same problem. What finally worked for me was to go into the keychain, changed my certificates status and revocations settings in the preferences to "best effort"; also added App Store to the apps access list for the appleid.apple.com and id.apple.com items.

I later took out the App Store from the access list for the items above and I'm still able to connect so I'm guessing the certificates preferences was the solution to my access issues (they were set to "required for all certs" before).

Hope this helps others.

1. Open Keychain Access
2. Keychain Access > Preferences
3. In Preferences window select the certificates tab
4. The first option: "Online Certificate Status Protocol" select "Best Attempt"
5. The second option: "Certificate Revocation List" select "Best Attempt"
6. The third option: "Priority" I left alone, is set to "Require Both"

Hope it helps. If not also try adding the "App Store" app to the access list of the two keychain items I mentioned previously.

I've got the same problem--"Cannot Connect to the App Store". I've tried:

1. Repairing permissions
2. Changing Keychain Access settings as suggested by PAP60
3. Creating a new admin account
4. I'm not running anything like Little Snitch.

None of this worked.

I don't know how to do this, PAP60: ...also added App Store to the apps access list for the appleid.apple.com and id.apple.com items.

Any more suggestions?
