iWork 11? 12?

I am also very disappointed because it seems that apple only has focus on the IOS devices. I really waited very long for an IWork update... I don´t want to switch back to MS, because I have a Mac and I want to work with IWork... But yeah, there is a new IPad...
@Niclas W
I agree that it is frustrating that the last version is iWork '09, but truthfully I didn't expect the iWork suite to be released at this event. If you check back to the notification about OSX Mountain Lion they say there that the iWork Suite will be given the same kind of integration as the iOS with iCloud. So I expect that when Mountain Lion is released early this summer we will get a new iWork suite for '12.
I hope you are right. There are a lot of rumours around about discontinuing IWork.
I really hope that Apple will not go into this direction...
@PaladinGert
You'll always have the doom and gloom types. But if you look at the direction they're going and the amount of work they've put into iWork on the iOS devices I don't think that is very likely but I can't rule it out completely.
I think the complexities of merging the iWork components of the OSX systems to work smoothly with the iOS devices through iCloud is a fairly large undertaking. Remember that iWork was recently upgraded during the Lion version of OSX to work with version control. Now they will need to work in the version control with the iCloud and make the interplay between iOS and OSX smooth and without loss of format as documents are moved from device to device.
My thoughts at this time is that when Apple releases Mt. Lion that the whole suite both iOS and OSX will be upgraded so that the ubiquitous experience will be consistent across any device. Which is quite different to today. Today if you move a document out to the cloud you are told you may lose some formatting in conversion. We may even need to repurchase the iOS iWork products since they may be different under the skin. I fully expect to purchase iWork on OSX since it will be a big overhaul to their suite. It will be very interesting this summer.
They won't and I have proof.
I agree that a new version may be needed to support the sharing of documents across multiple devices as shown in the 10.8 pages. There is a lot more missing from the current versions of the iWork suite, however. We are still stuck with the spell and grammar checker from Snow Leopard and there have been no additional features that I would like to see in an age. I was particularly disappointed to see that iBooks Author was so obviously written using the Pages code base, suggesting that if they are basing a new release on this then we are some way from the big update we all want.
I hope that the release of 10.8 is accompanied by a big update. I hope that it is not just a minor fix for iCloud compatibility.
Boxed products are gone...get latest versions through Apple's App Store:

Sorry, but I don't know what exactly you mean with this post. Wochenende know that the boxed versions are gone...
Since apple dropped the '09 from iWork in the App Store, that instead of releasing '11, '12, '13, etc. that it will keep the same name and just continually update that from the app store, I think. I hope that the people who bought the box version will get the app store equivalent version.
Folks, have you tried Apache OpenOffice, LibreOffice, or NeoOffice? These FREE office suites offer more features, are faster, support open international as well as proprietary standards, and are constantly updated. NeoOffice is adapting more and more of OS X features. With all you get word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, database, drawing, and equation editor. They lack the user interface organization and polish that Apple provides but functionally they beat out iWorks '09 easily.
And if you want to ask for help from the Neo Office support forums, it says

Apple is improving iWork. There are updates all the time. It doesn't need a new year label to be a new product, run the original iWork '09 and you'll see what I mean.
Apple doesn't even advertise the iWork Applciations as being part of a suite anymore, there is no "iWork '09" mentioned. I personally hope they do the updates without having a whole near year-labeled release, as these updates now are free.
I think that to say that "there are updates all the time" is very charitable. The last update to any iWork applications was a year ago. The latest one was a sticking plaster for iCloud integration. How long since any real new functionality was added? We still have the basic text functions from 2009 and no access to spell checking and autocorrect from Lion.
They have yet to address an elegant way of sharing files over iCloud where the iOS version has limited function as well. If I open files made on Mac OS in the iOS version I lose certain features such as conditional formatting in Numbers. Now with iCloud integration I get a warning and a chance to open a copy but this misses the point of keeping the files in sync.
I am underwhelmed by the latest update. Apple could do better than this.

Actually the lack of improvements is kind of amazing. Bugs with right to left languages persist after 7 years of complaints. Vertical text layout available in the iOS version and Color Emoji introduced in 10.7 are still not supported.
Oops, I meant "phonetic guides", not "vertical text".
