itunes not accessing gracenote

Help! I have a pile of CD's that I want to import. I haven't used my itunes for a while and when I opened it the upgrade came up. Not sure if that has anything to do with it or not, but now when I put in a cd it does not recognise it at all, and I only get 'track 1' etc.

It does not access gracenote at all - even when I go into advanced and get track names - nothing happens, no bar at the top or even the cursor busy icon. I have checked my preferences, run the diagnostics etc and cannot see why this is happening. Has anyone else experienced this? Am I missing something really obvious?

Any suggestions wouls be gratefully received!

Mine wasn't reading the cd's and I had to do some driver updates and that made it work for me. But then I started having the problem with it not burning cd's. I had to download an upgrade for a cd-dvd driver. I know this isn't much help but check your drives. Plus these guys here are great someone will help you get it fixed they're who helped me.
Good Luck, Kathy
