rearranging icons

rearranging icons

When I want to organize my icons to their own home screen, for ex. Card games, word games etc. on their separate home screens...I have been having a problem. When I open Itunes and my Ipad is plugged in...I go to Apps to organize. If the home screens are listed on the side of the screen then I can arrange but if they are underneath they won't let me rearrange...what could possible have changed? I have never had this problem until the last two times I plugged in....Help!!!

When opening ipad on computer ..I click on ipad...choose the tab for apps and the home page comes up with all the other screens showing so I can rearrange apps to different screens. When the screens show in the sidebar I can rearrange them fine but lately they have been showing under and won't let me do anything. don't know how the format changed but I've tried everything to get it back. any ideas?

Hi,

All you have to is drag and drop the app icons from one screen to the other.

If you can't rearrange the apps at all, follow the instructions here to Restore your iPad.

'm at a loss here. I've never seen the screens in the sidebar and I've never had a problem! Sorry.

This is a bit of a lame answer, but what if you just plan to sync it when it's in portrait mode? If it's in portrait, the app icons will always show on the right instead of on the bottom, like they do if you plug it in while the iPad is landscaped. I just tested mine and it allows me to rearrange the icons regardless of orientation, but if yours only works when in portrait, you can continue to sync while it's in portrait? Or is there a reason you need to sync while it's in landscape?

I think she may just be using the wrong terminology. Maybe she means on the side - on the side of the apps list?
I have great success arranging my apps on the device itself. No problems at all - folders and all.

You may well be correct but I didn't want to answer the wrong question and really mess her up.
