General Error (41)

Had a melt down with my iMac G5 running FCS [final cut pro 5.1]

so I have this project needing to be finished in a short while and my only other option is to put it back onto my g4 Powerbook, which I had it on before I had to reformat.

It is all installed, media on a firewire drive, but I get a General Error opening up the file.

and it is a blank sequence afterward.

what can I do?

General Error 41 (Final Cut Pro)

This error occurs when a project was created with a newer version of Final Cut Pro or when a project file is corrupt.

Suggested Actions:
* Update to the latest version of Final Cut Pro.
* Use Autosave Cleaner to revert to an autosave of the project from Final Cut Pro's autosave vault.
* If you have FCP Versioner, use it to revert to an earlier version of the project.

It sounds like you don't have the exact version of Final Cut Pro on your PowerBook that you do on your iMac. Use Software Update to update it to the latest version of 5.1.x.
