iMacG5 PowerMac 12.1 (Power PC G5 (3.1). How to extend its life
I had hoped that I could retain the screen, keyboard and mouse and link our iMac to a new Mac Mini, retaining the hard drive as a separate storage device - thereby avoiding undue wastage. The 20" screen is fine, nothing wrong with the keyboard and mouse and it would have been good if I could step up to Snow leopard and faster operations, utilise my intel based work software and keep things running. However it seems that the Mac Mini can only work with the latest 27" (Intel) iMac...so we will have to scrap what we have and start over.
Does anyone know of a workaround to this to enable us to go Intel and keep the current - perfectly sound - hardware running ?
Many thanks

Thank you. So I need a second monitor ? I can't just use the iMac screen ? (I don't have a separate monitor - might as well buy a new iMac but rather not...)
