Ever since I bought my first iPad last year, I have been getting two copies of AP Mobile news push notifications on my iPhone. I've tried deleting the app from both my iPhone and my iPad and re-installing it only on my iPhone but I still keep getting two copies of every push notification that AP Mobile sends out (usually the two notifications are within 30 seconds of each other).

How can I make these push notifications stop being duplicated? I do still want 1 push notification but not two.

    I have my iPhone and iPod touch both receive push notifications from the same systems all the time and they don't get duplicates like you mention, so I would guess the problem is really with the pusher (AP Mobile) and not with your iPhone.

    I don't use the AP mobile app, but I would guess that you use your email address or something similar to tell the app who you are. More than likely, their back end does not allow for you to have multiple devices configured to receive push notifications, so when you signed in on your iPad, their system just sees it as a second instance of your iPhone. You should be able to test this by creating another user account with the AP Mobile system for the iPad. You could also try contacting them to ask why they are sending you multiple push notifications to your iPhone.

    I've tried turning push notifications off and back on for the AP app and finally tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app--no change. Upon reinstalling the app, I wasn't asked if I wanted to approve push notifications again, so it remembered my choice from the previous install.


    The above was done under iOS 4. I upgraded to iOS 5 and am still having the problem, although it's slightly less annoying now, as the notifications take up less space (with the new notifications screen). I still see duplicates, though.


    AP is the only app I'm having this problem with. Two other folks in my household with the AP app do not have this problem. I've been having it for a long time now; I don't recall what instigated it or when it started, but it seems like it's been at least six months if not longer.

    I'm having the same problem, except they're coming in on my iPad, not my iPhone.  I've tried uninstalling the app, and resetting the iPad and restoring from a backup.  I'm still getting the duplicate push notifications from this app.

    I am also having this issue. It started when I installed iOS 7 beta then went back to iOS 6.1.4

    I came here, looking for an answer.  Like many, I too am getting two notifications for every one AP mobile app push.  I've tried everything that the other replies have tried, to no avail.   If anyone has a solution,  please advise, this is the only app that does this.

    I have had this problem for a long time ( > 4 years). I have sent several messages to ap mobile support and never got even an acknowledgement reply. It seems to me that somehow I've gotten into their notification list twice.

    Same problem on my iPad. Doesn't matter what IOS version, always duplicate alerts. No response from AP support.
