Want to install OS 9.2.2 on Ti 1Ghz, but lost software restore disks!!

I'm trying to install OS 9.2.2 on my 1Ghz Ti PowerBook, but have lost my original "Software restore" disks so in a spot of bother.
So far i've been able to use my Tiger install disk to run disk utility and totally erase the hard drive and to install the needed OS 9 drivers.
I then tried to install a retail version of OS 9.2.1 , by holding down the "C" key to boot from the disk, but during boot up I get a "error type 11". I'm told to retry and to switch off extensions to get rid of the error 11, but still no luck.
I've done a web search and it seems that ONLY OS 9.2.2 will install on the Ti 1Ghz (hence why my retail 9.2.1 won't install) and that a retail version of 9.2.2 still won't work, as it MUST be from the "Software restore" disks that came with the Ti PowerBook. The disk had two white dots on it I think..
Problem is I've a nasty feeling i through out my "software restore" disk, and i can't find it anywhere.
So any ideas on how I can install 9.2.2 on my PowerBook or where to get the needed "Software restore" disk from?
(ive seen one Mac spare place in the US have it in stock, but im not paying the $99 they're asking for it !!!!! <COUGH!!!!!> )

I don't want to run Classic, I just want the PowerBook to only have OS 9.2.2 installed. No OSX

sorry, but just found your post, you can install to your TI without the cd you are searching for

I have a TI 1 Ghz. and I Installed 9.2.2 in about 10 min with the following setup, but you need a Power Mac G4 or equivalent to get the initial "Universal drag install" and an external firewire drive

Best method is to acquire a Mac OS 9.2.1 Universal Install CD (White CD with Orange 9) from ebay for about $10 to $20. Install the CD and then download and install the 9.2.2 patch; you can then archive the entire fresh install ( Applications Mac OS 9, Documents, and System Folder) to a sub folder and use it on freshly formatted Hard drives by simply dragging the folders over without the need to install off CDs; Be sure to go up to 9.2.2 since there are many advantages (for example the ability to have partitions above the 120 GB limit) for Mac that have 48-bit HD addressing with OS 9 Drive Setup V2.1

The best universal "Drag" install I created was with an MDD 1.25 GHZ. G4 that can still boot directly to OS 9, I used the original OS X and OS 9 CDs that came with it and then dragged the fresh 9.2.2 (system, apps, documents) install to a sub folder called "OS 9 Drag Install" on a bootable external Firewire Drive, I have used this install by booting to the FW drive (Hold alt) and then simply formatting a fresh internal hard drive and dragging the OS 9.2.2 install folders (system, apps, documents) from my Firewire drive's subfolder (NOT the system folder on the root of the FW drive) to the root of the fresh HD; Note that I created the 9.2.2 system on the root of the bootable FW drive the same way, I have not found a PPC G3 or G4 Power Mac,iBook,iMac,or powerbook, that cannot boot to my 9.2.2 FW drive. also note after the install you can run the System profiler to see what video card is in the newly setup mac and run the extensions manager to turn off the nVidia or ATI drivers that the current system doesn't need if you want to save ram

It has worked on dozens of different G3s and G4s without a glitch from Powerbooks to Power Macs to iMacs, also on Pismo G3 and TI 800,867 and 1 Ghz

Hope you're well! Any chance you would be willing to send me a copy of that 1Ghz TiBook installer disc? I'm specifically hoping to boot into OS9. I'd certainly be willing to send a fee through Paypal. Thanks

FYI... If you can help, please let me know and I'll post my email. The email in my account settings on here is out of date. Thanks!!!

pfaffian, the bootable OS 9.2.2 for your PB is a special version that's only available on the gray Install/Restore disc that came with your PB. However, you can run OS 9 apps in classic mode.

Copy the System Folder from another Mac that has OS 9.1 (or better with 9.2.1 or 9.2.2) installed. A USB thumb dive works great for this. Transfer the folder to your Mac. It won't interfere with your OS X system which is in a folder titled System.

Cheers, Tom 😉

Update - I just checked the specs on 1GHz PB & it can't boot to OS 9.2.2, only run in classic mode.
