I think you mean Numbers or Excel.

I would recommend Documents to Go by Dataviz. It is a universal app, so you can run on both iPhone and iPad.

It comes in two versions, Standard ($9.99) and Premium ($16.99) Premium allows editing of PowerPoint Documents and supports documents held in the cloud.

Sounds like the Standard version would work for you.

Even the iPad is not that good for spreadsheets - certainly not for editing.

I use Docs-2-go and it is OK but not brilliant. On the iPhone it would be even harder.

I wouldn't expect too much from these apps. D2G has a very nasty habit of making SSs read only because it doesn't recognise a function. But for simple use, it is fine. I don't know that any of the others are any better.

The Apple SS typically has real problems interacting with Microsoft Office files though I believe that the last update may have improved things.

My experience is that they all have good points and bad points. No one is ideal.
1) Docs 2 Go doesn't support printing, and locks the file for editing if it doesn't support the Excel function
2) Office 2 HD is (in my opinion) probably on balance the best, but it doesn't support xlsx files (yet). It does have native printing, and it just ignores a function it doesn't like, so that when the file is reloaded into Excel, then the formula integrity is maintained and it calculates OK.
3)Numbers has by far the nicest UI, but is let down by poor Excel support. Also, it replaces functions it doesn't like with the last calculated numerical value. This means that all the formula data is lost when you reload into Excel.
If only MS could be persuaded to released an Office version for iOS!

I am not familiar with Office 2 HD and cannot find it in the app store.

I previously did a search on "Office HD" but must have missed it. Probably because I was not looking for squared. I see it this time.

It's quite silly really. I reckon they must losing a lot of sales by having such an awkward name.
If you search for just 'Office', it is there on the 2nd iPad page.
