Install Firmware 1.7 on Macbook Pro 5.3

I have a Boot ROM Version MBP53.00AC.B03 with SMC Version 1.48f2. An alert blocks installing the Firmware 1.7 Update required for installing Microsoft Office for Mac 2011 (Home and Student). Does anyone know how to resolve the Firmware 1.7 problem so the Office 2011 can be installed?
