INVITEE FIELD DISAPPEARED FROM CALENDAR EVENT CREATION WINDOW

I used to have the "Invitee" field in the event creation window and have used it. Today, while creating an event, I noticed that the Invitee field is not even in the window. Strangely, the invitee field is in an event that I had created about a month ago. In the manual it says that one can add invitees "if supported by your calendar server".

If that is the case, where is the calendar server located? At Apple? Or at the mobile phone carrier (i.e., Verizon in my case). Or is this a case of Apple removing functionality?

I realize this thread is kind of old, but I came across it a few times trying to solve the same problem with my phone. Now that I have mine fixed, I thought I would post how I got it to work out.

My problem was that I have multiple calender defaults, my Mac (bought in 09) and my icloud. I don't think my Mac and icloud accounts merge properly because I don't have my Mac updated to run icloud...anyway...

The way I fixed it was:

Settings>>Mail,Contacts,Calendars

Scroll down and you should see a section subtitled "Calendars". Find the "Default Calendar" option, and, for my case, I WAS set on My Mac>>Home and CHANGED it to iCloud>>Home.

Hope this works for you. I know it's frustrating; definitely was for me, especially when I try to send invites to my husband so he won't forget things. Now everything works properly.
