Camera on iPod Touch 4G

What I read in the Teardown article of the 4G iPod was that iPhone 4 camera would not fit in the 4G iPod because the iPod is too thin.

I've had the new Touch 4G since Christmas - my wife got one for me as a gift. I haven't had much occasion to use the camera yet, but I was absolutely shocked to find out it has such poor resolution compared to the camera on the iPhone 4. The Apple web site sure doesn't advertise the fact that the Touch's camera is so laughably less capable- they don't even list a megapixel count (which they do for the iPhone 4), and people not familiar with the term "VGA resolution" (like my wife) would be easily fooled. And to top that, the guy in the Apple store my wife bought it from made a point of saying what a "great camera" it was, and that played a major role in her decision to get it for me as an upgrade to my older iPod, as I'm a camera buff.

The iPod touch (4th generation) - Technical Specifications at http://support.apple.com/kb/SP594 clearly state: still photos (960 x 720) with back camera & VGA-quality photos and video up to 30 frames per second with the front camera.

VGA resolution is 0.3 mega pixels (640x480) so the back camera (at 0.7 mega pixels) has over twice 'VGA resolution'.

believe me you wouldnt want the i phone 4 camera, its soooo poor the quality of pictures it takes are atrotcious, ive taken better with a throw away camera n im not exagerating, its a disgrace, you cannot even take pictures using the flash as you get over exposed pictures thats just so bright u cant see the person. I have to take another camera with me now if i want to take pictures. thats the truth,
whatever camera u have now, it CANNOT be worse than the iphone 4 camera, and dont take any notice of the advertising pictures cus i dont no any1 whos iphone 4 camera will take pics like that. hope that helps, 🙂
