Mushfan,

I have a MC184B/A wireless keyboard. Go into settings on the iPad and switch on bluetooth. Switch on the wireless keyboard. Once the iPad has found and detected the keyboard you will see a message that the ipad wants to pair with the detected device and it will ask you to enter a code into your iPad. Once you have done that and your iPad and wireless keyboard have paired successfully, the status against bluetooth will show 'connected'

I am having trouble with my wireless keyboard ( silver aluminium) The keys touched bring up different characters.I am using the built in keyboard now. I will now switch to the wireless one.

That was an example starting with the Q through to the M.
The keyboard has been subject to flood water, but has been working ok till now

Okay, that'll do for today's comic relief.

Now, if I had one that had gone through a flood and now wasn't working, then I'd consider it dead, out of warranty, potentially useful as a decorative doorstop, all of that laying the groundwork for the following recommendation ....

1. Remove the battery and discard it.
2. Remove every other thing that you can. By this I mean keycaps, all of them (Take a photo of your keyboard first!). Keycap removal/reinstallation is a piece of cake, lots of guidance online.
3. Remove any visible debris by any way you can think of except, perhaps, scraping.
4. Using CRC Electronic Cleaner, spray down all of the exposed parts, inside and out, front and back, excluding keycaps.
5. Allow to dry, then repeat at least once.
6. Place keyboard body in bath of room temp distilled water. Put keycaps in a separate bath.
7. Let sit, gently swishing around now and then, for an hour or two.
8. Remove from bath let dry completely in warm, dry spot. Oven with the light on works well. Add desiccant packs in the vicinity if you like, or loosely wrap in cheesecloth and bury in rice for quickest drying.
9. When completely dry, do another round of CRC. Allow to dry.
10. Reattach keycaps, reinsert new battery.
11. Hope for the best!

What's your point, or your question?

I'm also old, and at best semi-geeky, but I have used techniques close to that to recover electronics that have gone swimming in other than fresh water. Live on a sailboat for 6 years and you learn how to do these things.

You can do nothing and hope it comes back on your own, or you can just go buy a new one, or you can try something like the above.
