Connecting my Vizio TV to my Airport Express

If you temporarily disable wireless encryption, can your Vizio TV connect now? If not, are you operating your 802.11n AirPort Express Base Station (AXn) on the 2.4 or 5 GHz radio band? If on 5 GHz, try changing to the 2.4 GHz band. Can it connect now?

It would be hard to believe that the Vizio would not connect at faster "n" speeds, but to test, keep the security off, but change the Radio Mode on the AirPort Express to 802.11b/g compatible.

Open AirPort Utility - Click Manual Setup
Click the Wireless tab
Hold down the option key on your Mac while you click on the Radio Mode setting
Choose 802.11b/g compatible

Test with no security to see if you can connect that way. If you can, it's a question of finding the right security settings now. But, the speed on your network will be less than half of what it was before.

I suggested the 802.11 b/g setting for the Radio Mode, but if you haven't already tried it, you might try the "802.11 g only" setting.

The 802.11 g setting with no security would allow just about any wireless device to connect, so if the Vizio won't connect, I tend to think that the wireless feature is not working correctly on the TV.

Any feedback from Vizio on the matter?

My Vizio TV won't connect either. The logs messages on the airport extreme go on forever while the TV is turned on. Something like:

My Vizio Wifi conn. seems to be working now. The fix was to replace my "top of the line" Motorola Docsis 3.0 cable modem with a rental 2.0 modem from Comcast. My symptom w/ the 3.0 was that the Vizio could see the network but wouldn't connect. All my wireless devices worked fine with the 3.0 but not the Vizio. The network speed is identical.

Ok, with security disabled, did you also try reconfiguring your Express to operate on the 2.4 GHz band?

Can you please clarify if you tried the suggestion to disable security and change the Radio Mode setting to a more compatible setting?

Were you ever able to get this issue solved, I'm also having vizio wifi problems.
