ipad wont fully turn on (boot)

My ipad is stuck, it wont turn on completely and off. The Apple icon appears when power is turned on but will not fully load, boot. And you can only turn it off by pressing both power button and the bottom button together.
I removed and then reinstalled an App, and I think possible thats what got the unit stuck. It wont even sync to my PC.
HELP!

you need to enter restore mode:
turn off completly;
plug into USB
hold down power and home until unit resets then release power but keep HOME pressed. after a few seconds the unit will be turned on and iTunes should detect it as an ipad in recovery mode! you will then need to perform a full restore from your last back-up

Thanks. I will try that. I will have to make a mental picture of the Apps I have not yet backed up.

Before I try that, I will call up Apple and question about the Apps not yet backed up. I dont want to pay for them again. Especially since one of them is $29.95 USD, ibirds.

as has been said dont worry about your apps. if you bought them then Itunes will tell you you have and just allow you to download them again. just browse for them, blick buy now, type in your password and before the installtion starts on your device you will get a warning message telling you you have already purchased the app and to press OK to download it again!
