Motion - Why don't my .gifs animate?

When I import animated gifs to Motion, they do not animate. Anyone know why, or how I can correct this? Thanks!

I don't believe animated GIFs are a supported format in Motion. Maybe convert them to a series of stills or a QT movie outside of Motion...

Photoshop open the GIF up nicely into frames. Then you could export it back out as an Image Sequence.

I think in a pinch, you can use Preview too...
