MP Navigator 2.24 is just ok for canon mp530 - better scanning software?

MP Navigator 2.24 is just ok so I tried 3.04

I found MP Navigator 3.04 from here

when installed it said could not find correct drivers

I tried a few but they didn't work

so I had to delete and go back to MP Navigator 2.24

Certain versions of MP Navigator only work with certain versions of Canon AIO's and scanners. Getting a different version of Navigator does not mean you are getting any more features. Checking the web the v2.24 is the correct version for your model. The v3.04 is meant for the MP560.

If you are not happy with Navigator then you can look at using Image Capture. It works fine for scanning images or documents and gives you some options for the scanned file.

It would be helpful if you would explain what you find to be the weaknesses in MP Navigator, and what you would like to have. You should also distinguish between MP Navigator, which is the user interface, and ScanGear, which is the scanner driver.

Once you have done this, you might put in a feature request to Canon.
