How can I stop the last character of my password from being displayed?

Have you ever used an iPad? Naturally, the password field is displayed on a large hi def "Retina" display screen. The people sitting on either side of me can see the password field with each character I enter into the field. The problem is NOT the keyboard. It is the password field and the fact that the iOS does not give you the option to default to an Asterick (like every other OS, browser, and/or app out there). It's NATURALLY obvious that Apple could show only an asterick because after 5 seconds of showing the character it switches to an asterick. What users need is the option to defaul it to an asterick. Tell me another app where when you type in a password field it shows you the character? An ATM? A blackberry (yes I said blackberry!)? A website? Seriously!!! Apple - please put out a fix for this glaring security flaw.

Two-and-a-half years plus more years of security than you've been on this earth. I would never enter a password while in a location where someone could watch my fingers on the keyboard.

You cannot turn password display off, and infact, it is not only the last character that is displayed, it is every character. Each is displayed in plain text for a couple seconds before becoming a dot.

For security it is better to not mirror until all passcodes and passwords have been entered.

This thread is old for sure, but so is the need for an option to hide the character input. I am sure you level20 guys can remember your P4s5w0rdz!th4tAr3soS3cur34evr but as a tech director for a High School, I count myself lucky when I can get some of our faculty to remember their password, much less when not to enter it.

Im not trying to convert you to android, though I wonder if you are me. Yes I submitted the formal feedback.

We allow iPad mirroring on our Apple TVs, and it would be nice to have the option to obfuscate any negligent consideration of password entry. God forbid they use the same password for anything else and a student catches on to an unfortunate mistake.
