Q: reset SMC Settings / 15" MacBook pro (2011)

Hello,

I have a brand new MacBook pro 15", i7 - 2,8 Ghz, 8 GB, 500 GB HDD. After using it for 2-3 days i thought the temperature goes to high (over 100 Celsius), so i installed "Fan Controle". After that the temperature goes down, but the fans runs around 5000 rpm.

After reading some Blogs with "fans goes broken" i uninstalled Fan Controle. But the program changed the SMC Settings and the fans run still at 4000-5000 rpm with a temperature 60° . So i want to reset this settings, but it didn't work.

I read the description on apple's support page for MacBooks pro early 2009 and later
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964?viewlocale=en_US

but my LED on the poweradapter don't shut down and on ... so is here anyone who can help me?

Thanks
Hannes

PS: sorry for bad english

Here are instructions for a SMC reset on your MBP:

    • Unplug the computer's power cord _and all peripherals_.
    • Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.
    • Release the power button.
    • Attach the computers power cable.
    • Press the power button to turn on the computer.
