Repair Cost List?

hi-
I am new on Apple and i am searching for a repair cost list. I would not like to set an appointment up with the Genius Bar until i am sure of the price of repair. Is there an online repair cost list that i may look into? My iPod Touch 2g is not under warranty anymore since i have had it since Christmas 2009. The screen has been cracked but the device is still working. please help. thank you(:

The price(that apple is charging) seems to be too much for a repair for your second generation of the iPod touch. I don't know exactly your situation, but if you the potential of purchasing the latest one go away with that. It seems to me that it could be a better option than giving away apple more money for a repair of your old iPod, and you could have the latest generation of the iPod touch(with all the features that IOS 4 has to offer). Well, that is my sincere opinion about that, just make sure to weight in your options before making your final decision.

Sorry to be so ignorant, but what is a service replacement? I have a first generation ipod 32 GB that I'm wondering if it is worth the repair (the connection to a dock is damaged/worn out - losing the audio, but still charges fine). It appears that I could get an 8 GB 4th generation for the price of the repair, but I ran out of memory on the one I have and don't think I'll be happy with less. Not sure what a service replacement is or if it will have the same capacity as the one I have? Please advise.
