Adjust volume without using side buttons?

Hi,
I have a 2nd generation iPod Touch. A few months ago, the headphone jack became "loose" and I had to wiggle my headphones around to make the sound work. I took it to the Apple store a few weeks ago and was told that it couldn't be repaired since I was no longer under warranty, but I could buy a small adapter that could convert the dock connector into a second headphone jack. I purchased one, and it works great, the only thing is the side buttons to adjust the volume no longer work. Is there any other way I can adjust the volume without buying headphones that have their own volume control?

I also have a 2g Ipod Touch. When you are listening to music, double click the circular *Home Button*. There should appear a little box with the song you are listening to and a *volume bar* with play/pause, etc. You can slide the bar to adjust volume. If it does not appear when you double click, go to Settings > General > *Home Button* > iPod . Hope this helps ! Reply if you are still confused and i can help.
