Changing Admin Password Without Installation Disk

I have forgotten my administrator password. I also have seemed to misplace the Installation disk. Is there any way I can change the password without the installation disk?? Please help!

Try this:

How to change your username and/or password from the Terminal

1. Boot into single-user mode
2. Type fsck -fy
3. Type mount -uw /
4. Type launchctl load /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.DirectoryServices.plist
5. Type dscl . -passwd /Users/username password, replacing username with the targeted user and password with the desired password.
6.Reboot

This allows you to reset the password in single user mode without booting from the install media.

The above tip is attributed to Satcomer.

The above is for Snow Leopard, but I believe it also works in Leopard. If there's a problem then see these:

OS X- Changing or resetting an account password.
