how do i restart my g4 powerbook?

when i was looking some pictures in the iphoto, i didn't even connect to the internet, however, the screen suddenly black out, and i got a error message saying "you need to restart your computer. hold down the power button for several seconds or press the restart button". i've tried to hold down the power button to restart it quite a few times, i still got the same black screen with these messages, and i don't know where the restart button is. could anyone please help me to save my powerbook, many thanks.

if you have any peripheral connected, like the external drive, printer, network hub etc, try to disconnect everything

if there is an extra RAM installed, could be the RAM sometimes, maybe see if the main battery is bulging

there is no reset button, if it crushes, power button must be held down until computer shuts down

possibly the RAM, sometimes it just needs to be reseated in the connector slot

that kind of a crash could be caused by different things - RAM, hard drive, logic board and sometimes the software, as a guess it's a hardware in your case, maybe contact qualified service provider in your area since restarting and crushing can damage files on the hard drive and if you have important files on the drive you don't want that to happen
