Podcast Producer - Important setup notes

Do you use OS X server with network accounts/logins, then pay attention fellow mac'ers

Assuming your OS X server DNS service is setup correctly, then the following hint really assists for those OS X network account users.

If you dont do the following your accounts may not logon with a non desrciptive error at the users end!

1. Using the 'Podcast Producer' setup assistant, use the 'Express Setup' option
-This will take care of most requirements, including xgrid service setup, xgrid user & authentication (WGM will have a new user 'podcastxgrid_xxx')

-If you check out your Work Group Manager, you will notice existing network (OD) users have an additional home directory...this is the issue and will stop your users from logging on. (dont delete anything here, not required)

2. Go to your server shares, share points, look for '/Volumes/HDDname/Library/PodcastProducer/Shared' (default NFS share setup by Podcast Producer setup assistant)

3. Select the share point '/Volumes/HDDname/Library/PodcastProducer/Shared' and below the Share Point | Permissions will become usable, select Share Point and untick 'Enable Automount'

This will leave the default settings in place and allow your network users to logon without home directory conflicts.
