Can't print coupons

I browsed around and couldn't find this topic, so forgive me if this is a repeat.

I'm having trouble printing coupons from sites like coupons.com and redplum.com. I have installed all of the needed software, uninstalled, and installed again. I've also repaired all my permissions. What happens is it says it's printing, it goes to print, but then an error message pops up in the queue under status and it won't print.
Here are a couple examples of the error messages:
Error: /usr/libexec/cups/filter/cgpdftoraster failed
Error: /usr/libexec/cups/filter/CouponConvertor_v2 failed

Anyone have any idea how to fix this?

As a last resort I tried printing from AOL Desktop 1.5. I was shocked when my printer (HP7210) started printing. Can now print coupons from Coupons.com and Redplum.com. This worked for me after researching for weeks. Was previously getting the printer error message: /usr/libexec/cups/filter/CouponConvertor_v2 failed, but not anymore.

My OS is Snow Leopard 10.6.8. The "fix" is so simple, I can hardly believe it! Hope this works and good luck.

I may give this a shot, but I don't considering having to use the AOL browser an actual "fix", it's just a work around.

I wish I could determine if the issue happened after an OS update or a Firefox update. I did them all at once. I suppose if printing via AOL works, that will verify that it's firefox (and safari and chrome) that are the problem.

I have been unable to print coupons from Firefox for quite some time, but Safari did work until the update. I was able to print SmartSource Coupons as well as Target coupons. Apparently those print with an Applet, not the Coupon Printer Plug In. I have tried everything from reinstalling all my printer software and drivers (HP7210 all in one), to every single suggestion I could find. Had no response from Coupons.com after my last email to them several days ago. Their first response was generic and of zero value. I was so frustrated and even went to the CUPS site to see if I could get any information there...much too technical for me. However, with all of my searching, I discovered I had the AOL Desktop program v 1.5 on my computer, so for lack of anything else that would work, I opened it, went to Coupons.com and amazingly the coupon printed! Did the same thing for Redplum, and that also printed. I don't know why it works for me, but it does. Not even sure how AOL Desktop works, other than it seems to be an uncluttered basic program, not filled with a zillion goodies. Good luck to you.

I can confrim that after trying everything else I could think of, the work-around of using AOL Desktop for Mac (I downloaded 1.7) works to print coupons.

I also sent an email to Coupons.com detailing the problem with Safari and Firefox (the only two browsers they list as being compatible with their software and Mac OS X) and letting them know about the work-around of using AOL Desktop for Mac, so it's not an incompatibility with OS X itself - just with their implementation with data from Safari and Firefox. I'd suggest everyone else do the same. Here's the link to their "Contact Us" page:

I just used bogus info for the phone number (555-555-5555), company name, etc (I did give them one of the email address I use for junk mail and subscription lists that I only rarely check).

I also selected "Problems with or Questions about Printing & Using Coupons" as the option on the "Please contact me to discuss" drop down, and then "I cannot print coupons" on the "Problem" dropdown menu that appears after that.

Hope this might help others.

Oh, and here's a link for AOL Dekstop for Mac:

This is an old problem that keeps popping up!

My solution:

Right click on Safari in Finder (not in the task bar) and select 'Get Info'. Place a check mark in the box beside "Open in 32-bit mode". Close Safari by right clicking on the icon in the task bar and selecting 'Quit'. When Safari is restarted the coupons should print.

HI! I am running 10.6.8 and printing coupons for years, there is always some sort of issue it seems when an update is done, but this one is baffling me. It works fine on another computer I have that is running an older OS but I tried the "get info" steve13 with high hopes and that didn't work, then also tried it clicking on "open using rosetta" and that didn't work either. I am getting the Error: /usr/libexec/cups/filter/CouponConvertor_v2 failed I also tried deleting and reistalling all the coupon software (4 files total) and that didn't help. I just downloaded the AOL Desktop for Mac and that didn't work either. It says it is compatible with 10.4 and 10.5 OS versions. If anyone has any advice I would love to hear it :-) New to the forum so I will search some more and see if this is posted somewhere else. Thanks!

I am also running 10.6.8, also printing coupons for years. Have tried every suggestion I could find and again just tried "get info" and that didn't work either. The error message is always the same, /usr/libexec/cups/filter/CouponConvertor_v2 failed. Went to AOL Desktop for Mac Version 1.5 (559) and Coupons.com did indeed print. Smart Source and Red Plum coupons work perfectly in Safari or Firefox. Good luck in your search. 🙂
