    Hi,

If you purchased an app then deleted it, you must pay for it again.

If this is a free app, check your Applications folder to see if it's there.

I do not believe that this is correct. That's not the way it works for apps on the iTunes store, so I don't know why it should be here.

I have an app that I accidentally downloaded and then deleted. It shows up in the Purchases section on the App Store with an "Install" button to let me reinstall it. Although this particular app was a free one, I see no reason why the same thing wouldn't work for a paid app. If you do not see the same thing, contact Apple via the App Store support page.

    See this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4482
If it says it is installed, check the Trash or use Spotlight to search for it.

Re-purchasing is not correct. I had a problem with one of my apps (running after installing). I re-downloaded it 4 times without problem. Once you've paid for it, you can download it again without paying for it a second/third, etc.

I can't reinstall one of my purchased apps either.
The install went OK but it crashed when I ran it. So I deleted it and tried to reinstall it. However it says its "installed". I cant find it using spotlight so how do I get app store to change the state

I have the same problem (with an app called "Mental Case" to be specific). I deleted it by dragging it to the trash. I restarted my computer. Spotlight can't find it anywhere on my computer. The App Store still thinks it's installed and I can't reinstall it.

Yes, I have the same problem with XCode. MAS didn't want to install the update. So I decided to remove it. I even used uninstall-devtools. But MAS still tells that it is installed.

Now I don't have XCode on my main machine and I'm not able wether to rebuy it nor to reinstall it. So how to go on developing software? Aargh! Does something have a solution for that?

Has anyone figured out a solution to this?  I'm a little surprised Apple hasn't fixed this issue, I've tried contacting support with no luck.

I have the same problem with iRatchet 3.06. Dowloaded it on February 5 and it worked fine until I upgraded to 10.6.8 and now it refuses to run. Contacted developer and he said to delete files which I did. There is now not a trace of iRatchet on my hdd but the App Store status still says Installed so I cannot redownload. Contacted Apple and got two COMPLETELY USELESS reples from them referencing useless FAQs that did not solve the problem. The other solution they offered was paid service support!

Still have no solution after 1 week.

Apple has not thought thru this part of the App Store properly.

Maybe,  Apps get removed from the system all the time.  Make backups on CDs or DVDs.  Do not rely on the App Store as a backup.

In spite of the fact that the MAS works pretty flawlessly for millions of us. The issue here is not Apple, but something that is perhaps an issue on your particular kit.

Open a trial user account. See if the app will download from the user account.

Sorry Dahveed BUT the issue is Apple. Instead of wasting my time with suggestions about new trial accounts, you try deleting an application downloaded from the MAS either manually or with something like App Zapper or following the developer instructions. Then login in and see what App Store tells you about the App status—it will show Installed.

Not Available for purchase but Installed!  Now try finding a way to re-install or redownload. Can't be done and Apple Support cannot tell you a way either.
