New Log in glitch?

For the past three days, I've gone to the log-in page, clicked on log in and the result is a completely empty, white page with the exception of an avatar in the very upper left corner: yesterday it was a white iMac, today the Finder icon (with a note at the bottom of the browser "javascript: avatar etc etc". There is no menu bar or anything else clickable. If I then go to my bookmarks bar (Firefox) and hit any one of the A D related bookmarks, it immediately takes me to that page and I'm signed in.

Ok, did I wait long enough? Just got back home and am not answering Klaus to prove him wrong - besides, somebody needs to buy him a dictionary, although...what can you realistically expect from a Dane living in a funny-English speaking country (telly = ?????)..... And who won the Chicago/Seattle game?

So, got any more ideas on the strange page with an avatar?

I am desperately hoping the Jets win over the Pats, then our local news can get back to reporting news and stop yammering about football. Heaven forfend if the Pats win and then go on to the Super Bowl, this place will be a madhouse. I do not understand this all consuming passion for hitting, concussing and maiming people. Apparently, a hockey game is no fun unless there is a murderous attack, baseball is rife with balls thrown to hit someone and football's aim is to hit the other person so hard they'll be knocked unconscious and thus be unable to "play" any more. (ducking)

And why are they called sports? Wouldn't aggressive pastimes be more accurate?

Well, I have to admit I actually enjoy watching the playoffs - that is if one of my favorite teams is still in it - and right now, there is: Pittsburgh.... actually New England is also on my favorite list, but they just lost 😟 None of my favorite NFC teams are still in it (Dallas and San Francisco).

And I like hockey, albeit preferably without a fight.

I'm aware of that 🙂 and I used to cheer for any team playing the Packers - my choice came about when I was first indoctrinated into American football by my ex - a Greenbay Packer fan. I asked if I could be for any team (that actually did more than just run for a yard or two) and, hoping that I'd actually then be interested in watching, he said "sure" - the team playing at that time was Dallas and the quarterback was throwing a bunch of "hail Mary's", so that was it....over the years, I added a few more teams to the list.
