can anyone help me connect my ipad to the internet via my 2wire AT&T wireless router. the ipad is connected to my home router with good signal strength and my laptop is accessing the internet with no issues via the wireless router. when trying to connect ipad to internet safari message says cant connect to internet. i have completed resets of the ipad and the router and updated both. it seems that the ip address for the ipad begins with 169 and my router ip address begins with 192. from other posts, i believe this to be the problem but cant solve it. appreciate any help.

    Try doing a Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings on your iPad and turn off and back on your router.

    After this try to connect again. Check your assigned IP address to make sure it doesn't start with 169.

    If these steps don't work check for a firmware update for your router.

    I'm facing the same problem and following the instructions below. I have a 2Wire as well.  Logged in my router password but still no email.

     

    Went to Safari but it shows not connected to the internet.

    Thank you, thank you jimHdk, you got me connected, I've been stressing with this for 4 days, even drove to the AT&T store, they couldn't help me.
