essential applications for macbook pro

hi guys,

i am new member of mac family. i am little bit alien. which applications are essential either you prefer to use them? i heard some thing about keeping mac on good performance. what is that?

you don't need any 3rd party app to +keep your mac on good performance+. Mac OS X has everything on board. just make sure you always have enough free HD space (10-15 % of total HD capacity) and go easy on installing 3rd party software. unless you frequently exchange files with winsloth users, you don't need to install antivirus software (especially Norton Antivirus). if you do, all you'll ever need is ClamXav. there are currently no viruses that can affect your Mac !

if you shut down your Mac rather than putting it to sleep when not in use, the only thing you need to do occasionally is running the maintenance scripts manually. you can download the [ Maintidget|http://www.giantmike.com/widgets/Maintidget.html] dashboard widget and invoke the scripts from there.
